After one year of studying psychology at UNC Charlotte, and a lifetime of loving music, I made the decision to leave North Carolina for the big city to pursue a career in the music business. In December of 2006, I graduated with a degree in Management of Musical Enterprises from Baruch College in Manhattan. Throughout my college years, I spent a lot of time studying the industry, both in and outside of the classroom, but my real learning experience began in early 2006, when I started my internship with Ramseur Records, an independent record label and management company based in my hometown of Concord, NC. After graduating, I moved back to NC and worked as the sole employee at Ramseur for the next three years, where I did a little bit of everything.
In January of 2010, I left Ramseur to found Spacecar Management and have been working at the helm of this company full-time since then. I currently have a roster of three management clients, and a number of graphic and website design / promotions clients.
I have had the distinct pleasure of working closely with artists such as The Avett Brothers, the everybodyfields, the Carolina Chocolate Drops, Sam Quinn, Simone Felice, Samantha Crain, Jill Andrews, Holy Ghost Tent Revival, Natalie Prass, The Devil Whale, Toy Soldiers, Frontier Ruckus, Brian McGee, The Delta Saints, Paleface, Bombadil, Stephen Sebastian and more. Over the years, I learned a lot and feel that I have gained a unique perspective on this business.
Most importantly -- I love music, I understand the music business and I recognize the need for guidance as a musician navigates their way through the murky sea that is this industry.
